Planning to purchase one of the two.

Any experiences or suggestions?

The tents are essentially the same; basically just the dimensions are different. It really just depends on the space you have available and what you plan on putting inside. If you are going hydro, then the system you end up choosing will probably fit in one tent better than the other. If you are going soil, and space is not an issue, then it just becomes personal preference.

The other factor to consider is that the GL120 offers close to 20% more space than the GL80L, for only a slightly higher price.

Thanks David,

I did notice in the specs that the 120 has 5-8" ports & the 80L has 5-5" ports. Seems to me that a 6" or 8" fan might be a little much. But might work with a with a fan speed control.

Any lighting suggestions?

In the GL 120: 600w HPS for flowering and either a 600w conversion HPS-MH conversion or if it is soley to be used as a vegative tent you could use a 400w MH.

FYI, the main reason that the ports on the GL120 are 8" is so that they can accept 6" insulated ducting, and if you're using a carbon filter then depending on the fan/filter combination you may find yourself needing a 6" fan. Also, some growers daisy chain the tents together with only one fan, in which case they may need a 6" or even an 8" fan.

I just received what should be a new revision GL80L, and the sock ports when fully opened are 8". The electrical cord ports are 4" as stated tho, So they made them bigger in the new revisions or mine was some factory mishap.

Thanks John & David,

Yeah, I think the 120 is a way better deal for that reason. Do you think the GL120 accessory kit with its 4" fan & carbon filter has enough CFM for an air cooled lighting combo such as:

Item Code: HLHPS06SS
Customize your 600 HPS Super Sun Grow Light System

My ambient temp would run between 60 or 70 F.

Absolutely, especially with the low ambient air temp you have.

Thanks again David,

Im really swaying towards upgrading the accessory kit to a 6" fan, filter & ducting with a fan speed controler with future daisy chaining in mind.

In your opinion will this work with only 1 tent for now?

If it's showing up as an upgrade option on our site then it means it has been tested and should work fine. You will probably need to open as many ports as possible to allow air to enter the tent to replace the large amount of air that is being sucked out by the large fan, but it should be okay. If you don't like the tent sucking in too much then you can always add a speed control, but I wouldn't restrict it too much, otherwise your carbon filter may not function at 100% efficiency.

Cool, thanks man.

I really appreciate your timely replys. Im still on the fence as to go 6" or 4" as I'm planning to run a GL60 as a veg room & would like to utilize one fan for both.

Doesnt matter any way I guess as BGH live help informed me yesterday that the GrowLab shipment has been pushed back to October 10th.

Great, but I am still getting conflicting reports from BGH live help. Out of 3 operators that I have spoken with I got next week, October 16th & in about a month for replies.

So whats the deal David?
I would really prefer to order all of my stuff from BGH in one shipment.

We are expecting our shipment to arrive either today or Monday at the very latest. I will inform our processing staff as to the new ETA. Sorry for the confusion!
