View Full Version : Adjusta Wings or Air cooled light hoods?

I have worked with both Adjust a wings and the Air cooled light hoods.
I have noticed that the air cooled hoods generate much more heat.
These boxes build up heat like an oven and once it reaches a certain temp you cannot bring it back down until the lights go off.

Now for the Adjust a wings. These things stay very cool. You can hold your hand six inches from the bulb without getting hot. The heat does not get trapped anywhere, it just goes straight out through your exhaust filters.

Anybody else notice the difference between the two different types?

Well, YEAH...the air cooled hood must be air cooled... with a decent fan attached they're much cooler than open hoods, not to mention the dangers of non-enclosed hoods, wear sunglasses at all times, if a bulb explodes you'll be glad. I heard of people foliar feeding their plants and bulbs reacted non favorably...

Stay safe!
