got my vortex 6in here
and i am very happy with it
however it is to loud for me to use
would a Electronic Speed Control reduce the noise it makes
as i could slow it down
i am cooling a 600w {also purchased here}
i need it to be very very quiet yet
cool the light in a small space

make sure you are using insulated ducting and you can also wrap your fan in some form of insulation or another. even mounting it within a sound deadend box. um thats about all i can think of for noise besides maybe an inline duct muffler within your system.

yeah that should work for you. carpet padding is a good thing to wrap it in I think. you also can use a dimmer because a 4" would prob be sufficient to cool that light.

Have you tried this? The Speedster Fan Speed Control

http://www.bghydro.com/search/?q=speed+control+&btnG=Search&filter=0&ie=&site=BGH_store&output=xml_no_dtd&client=BGH_store&lr=&spell=1&ip=10.1.10.2&proxystylesheet=BGH_store&getfields=productimage.productname&oe=

and also would you have any info on the maintenance? The oiling aspect of the motor?
