Hello I have been having a problem with root rot could someone please help me.

I am running a flood and drain system with air stones in the resewere. It floods every 3 hours and takes 2 minuits to flood and 2 minuits to empty so i doubt its being caused by the growing medium being too wet or having too little oxygen.

I have always grown with the same system and never had this problem until i moved house and started growing in a new place. The first crop developed root rot after 3 weeks of growing from rooted cuttings, the problem was too bad so i disposed of the plants and sterilized everything with bleach thinking this would solve the problem.

I started another crop with sterilized equipment and fungicide and algaecide in the nutrient solution and its been 3 weeks into it and about 10% of the plants have again developed root rot, the other 90% appear to be healthy, with 10% of that 90% having slightly off colored roots.

First i would like to know if i can save my plants as 95% of the roots are white in color?

Second i would like to know where it comes from, i live in the countryside surrounded by trees and plants, also i have a stagnant pool of water a few meters from my front door.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i need to save these plants.

I am just starting my first garden. Well, it's only one tomato plant but I do plan to expand! I am trying the setup that has the spray nozzles ( the 360 degreee kind )to spray the roots. Then the dripping water drains out into another bucket sitting on the floor. This bucket, which is holding all the water is pumped up to the nozzles.

My problem is the pump doesn't seem to have enough pressure. The water dribbles out of the nozzles. Half the nozzle works, half doesn't. When I lift the water tank up and put it at the same height as the nozzles, the spray improves somewhat but then the gravity drain becomes ineffective!

I have the Eco Plus 185 GPH submersable pump. I have 1/2 inch hoses and 3 spray nozzles.

Do I have the wrong pump? Is there a stronger pump that won't cost a fortune? What pump would you recommend?

Please help this neebee.
Thank you. I will hang up and wait for my answer :-)

Hey guys I have a 400w lumatek ballast. I want to pick a very good MH for it. I know that the hortilux blue is supposed to be pretty nice, but its only has 29,000 lumens. I was wondering if the Ushio opti blue works well on lumatek ballasts. it boasts 39,000 lumens witch is a lot more. I am just concerned weather it works well or not because it is considered a "conversion" bulb and I don't quite understand weather they operate on e-ballasts well or not.
Thanks in advance!

Hello, I was looking for abit of help in the matter of lighting. Ok I have quite a few T8 bulbs 2700k for flower, 5000k for veg, 32 watts a bulb. And I was going to get some t8 worklights to work them into. Though I want to use so many of the worklights to light my rooms. I have two T-12s with full spectrum bulbs, and I want to 5-6 t8 worklights on one plug in the basement (using no washer or dryer).

These are the only things being plugged into that plug. I was wondering could that work, or do I run the risk of burning down the house or screwing something else up electrical.

Thanks for your help, sorry if the format is sloppy, I'm going to be late for class, but I had to get it out while it was fresh on my mind.

Greetings all:

I have the GL80 tent and will be using a Sun System 7 dual spectrum reflector for part of my lighting needs. For an initial test run I stuck my 175W MH bulb on one end and my 250W HPS on the other, all connected to a 4" inline blower to help with cooling. The temps in the tent hovered right around 75* which isn't too shabby.

I am really contemplating on bumping it up to a 250W MH/400W HPS for a total of 650 watts. I also plan on running C02, which will be controlled by a Sentinel CHHC-1 greenhouse controller, and an additional 4" fan for active air intake. Should I run a 6" inline blower instead of the 4" for the reflector, keeping in mind that it will be pulling air through a carbon scrubber as well?

THX
