600 watt hps coverage
In general (in gneral because i know the ballast/bulb/reflector combo will make a significant difference) how many square feet will a 600 watt hps adequately illuminate for plants like tomatoes/peppers/cucumbers?
I ask becuase the numbers i see printed in catalogs like ones offered by hydrofarm and sunlight supply seem vastly overstated.
3X3 for one 600
4x4 for one 1000
*In general, I know some growers who like to spread their light a little thinner but this is the standard.
This is for the flowering phase of fruit/flower bearing plants.
i really appreciate the response. I knew my 600hps wasn't ever gonna cover 16ft^2. However I guess it would probably work for lettuce, or other heat sensitive greens (basil, cilantro).
