Alternative to plastics for hydroponics??

I have been searching for an alternative to plastics... Anyone know of anything other than custom glass and stainless steel (18/8)? So far, these are the options I can think of as I haven't found anything else.

Reasons for this: Plastics suck in all regards. They're created from oil and the process of turning oil into plastics causes a ton of pollution (both in the air and water) for starters. Not to mention, IMHO, only food safe plastics should be used for growing food but they're still plastic. PVC is one of the worst as it is practically un-recyclable.

Hopefully, someone here can help. Otherwise, I'll stick to using dirt.

Bamboo has been working great. Looks wonderful as well. Can be used both horizontal/vertically.
Tubing replaced with stainless steel.
